Trees

I have always loved water color but have never tried working with it. So here is one of my first attempt in a long time. Its funny that depending on my stage of life is some times reflected in my type of media, water color always seemed so uncontrollable.

Crying Tree

I like pen, unlike pencil if you make a mistake you have to work with it. That is what I like about this drawing, so many mistakes that turned out good.

I was talking to some very close friends and I was explaining to them about my draws at the time. They recommended I draw a comic book, from that point on I have started and stopped at least 6 of them. This was going to be a one of the first pages of number 4..

1996 Self Portrait

1996 I did a self portrait I really liked. It was made looking into a window late at night at a local coffee house. For some reason to this day I really like it

This has been a very long week.... I tried a number of different ways of drawing this and settled on doing this way.

This is for one of my sisters...... We all have storms in life that seem to destroy all our hopes and dreams. These storms are best handled with a head lowered while charging into the falling rain. The rain that once seemed to wash everything away gives new life and dreams.

A Real Car

So my son last summer asked for a car. Figuring a 3 year behind the wheel of a real one was not a good idea, so we made this. He helped to design it and I put it together. I need to finish it up and changed the wheels. I really enjoyed working on this with him...

This image was originally created by David, Jacques-Louis in 1791. I have been working off the image to add to a comic book i have been making for my super hero sister. Its slow going but it will be finished some day:)

Between work and everyday life i have not had a lot of time to post anything. As it looks April will be light on content. The early part of the month was spent finishing up a quilt for my mother. I really enjoyed putting this together... It looks really good up close. Also I did all the quilting, were I stipled part of the quilt and echoed the stars.

I saw an image of man holding his hands as if he was going to give the blessing of peace to a stranger. I hope he was.I like the overall image but some of the elements I'm not pleased with.

This is a drawing I have been working over the last week. Its been a long time since I have worked on a drawing this large. Most of my work has been less than 8 x 11. I'm pleased with face and body but the arm seems off. Well Enjoy

I believe that we learn something from everyone we meet in life. When drawing and coloring this image, the woman's smile was the focus of the work. Just looking at her makes one want to smile

I have learned in this life to have faith in the strength of people. In each life we have many storms to overcome, some by walking through them and others by watching them pass over. When drawing this mans face, I thought of the storms that he had to weather.
